Wisconsin Cams Page

November 21st, 2008 Author: Steven

I’ve just added a few new cams to the Wisconsin Cams page. I found a cool Milwaukee cam that shows a wide angle view of downtown and Lake Michigan. I put it under the Lake Michigan section. Plus I found a couple of cams on Lake Geneva. Lake Geneva is about 30 miles west of Kenosha. I also added a couple new Duluth MN cams and some cams from Chicago that show the lake. One of the Chicago ones is from the top of the Sears Tower. It’s a pretty awesome view.

Winter is moving in fast around the Midwest. It’s pretty cool to see how fast things change. For example, yesterday the Milli Lacs Lake cam showed a very wavey and stormy lake. Today the lake is froze over! It happened over night. Their low up there last night was around 9 and thier high today is about 19. That will freeze a lake pretty quick.

Also the cams in Michgan all have snow now. They’ve been receiving lake effect snow off of Lake Michigan for the last few days. You’ll also notice that the North Woods cams have snow too. They get their lake effect snow of off Lake Superior.

Pretty cool stuff.

BRRRRR………..(Just a little anyway)

November 21st, 2008 Author: Steven

Last night was the coolest night of the season so far, 15 degrees. It’s 20 out there right now and we’re expecting a high of 29 with winds 10-15 mph. That will put the wind chills in the low teens.

Yesterday we even had a little bit of snow. We has flurries all morning and then around noon it snowed hard for about 20 minutes or so. Just enough to give us a dusting on the ground.

Our average highs this time of year are in the 40’s, so we’re below average.

Of course, as I’ve said before, come January these temps will feel balmy.

Glacier Point Road Re-opens Today

November 21st, 2008 Author: Steven

Due to the snow melt from  warm weather that the Sierra has been experiencing, Glacier Point Road in Yosemite National Park will re-open today at 8:00am. The snack bar and gift shop will remain closed, but the toilets will be open.

You don’t get many chances to drive to Glacier Point this time of year. It might be a good time to see one of the greatest views in the world and not have to share it with thousands of other people like you do in the summer.

This makes me wonder if there’s a possibility of Tioga Pass re-opening too.

Wanta Shoot Some Pool

November 17th, 2008 Author: Steven

Ok, this may get a few of you in trouble. But I’m going to tell you about it anyway.

The other day I found this cool online pool game. It’s very realalistic,  totally adicting, and best of all, it’s free.  The object  is to pocket all 15 balls in the time alloted. You start with 2 minutes, every time you make a ball time gets added on, if you scratch time gets taken off. When you clear the table you get a new rack and continue on until you run out of time.

I’m hooked on the darn game. Here’s the link:

Pocket as many pool balls as you can before the time runs out!

Play this free game now!!

And remember, if you get in trouble at work for playing it, it’s not my fault :-)
